There exists a wide gap between the curriculum taught at colleges and its practical application in the real world, which is in stark difference with the rapidly changing industry requirements. As a result, people who graduate from educational institutions find it all the more difficult to crack job interviews and land suitable jobs. What is the permanent solution to this problem?
SkilloVilla, a Bengaluru-based EdTech startup, is striving to bridge the skills gap and propel a graduate’s career with an industry-aligned curriculum that is not included in regular college syllabi. They see upskilling as the need of the hour to succeed in this technology-driven world and have made it their mission to support young graduates in enhancing their learnings and transforming them into big earnings.
The startup was co-founded in May 2020 by IIT Delhi and IIIT Hyderabad alumni Ronak Agrawal, Rajat Agrawal, and Deepak Kharol.
“My peers from regular colleges were having a hard time in job interviews as the curriculum taught to them and the practical application of it did not align with the industry requirements. Hence, when we went ahead with SkilloVilla, our major intent was to design a course that helps a student get hired in the best companies for which it is imperative that the curriculum firmly supports this goal. And who’d be better to judge the content, than the torch bearers of the respective technologies? Thus, we got the masters of the domain to the table and built our courses in collaboration with them.
Having our bases set up in a country where 80% of the 1.5 million engineers that graduate every year remain unemployed or are employed in low skill jobs, aiding youngsters to land the job of their dreams and crafting a bright future for them is what keeps us going.”
– Ronak Agrawal, Co-founder and CEO
“With SkilloVilla coming into being, we made sure to get the renowned industry masters from top-notch companies like Amazon, Swiggy, Microsoft and many more to conduct live classes. These experts bring in years of experience and help build real-world knowledge along with unlocking a whole new horizon of multiple case studies. With every attempt of ours to set the conventional limits of learning aside, we aspire to create and instill value to the existing educational spectrum, thus ensuring the all-round development of our learners.”

With the sharp GDP contraction after the pandemic, unemployment is only expected to grow in the absence of jobs.
